ProENTRY IV 4.00.0425 (Candidate Release #1)

Changes in this version:

  • This version of ProENTRY Echelon IV, Candidate Release #1, is essentially feature-complete and thus capable of supporting catalog and order creation and maintenance.  With the inclusion of standard reports, this version is ready for testing in preparation for use, but should not be considered bug free. Therefore, while it is now possible to use ProENTRY IV, it is not considered ready for commercial use without additional testing.
  • Added ProENTRY IV Service Manager. This small program, installed as a service on client computers, manages PMail notifications, printing of reports, and other background tasks. This program will appear as an icon in the Windows system tray. The operator is required to log in when the Service Manager is launched, but communications between the Service Manager and other ProENTRY IV applications will eliminate the necessity to log as these are started.
  • Standard reports such as quotes, acknowledgements, packing lists, and invoices are now available.  Although ProENTRY will add some sample reports during new installations, it will be desirable to customize these or add additional reports.  From the ProENTRY IV Catalog Configurator
program’s main menu, select Maintain and then Report Definitions.
  • ProENTRY IV now completes a credit limit check and/or credit review based upon changes in the user defined Order Status.  In the Licensed User update window, select the More tab and edit Order Statuses in the relation tree to set triggers for these functions.
  • Client account balance is now updated when invoices are successfully printed.
  • Order Status may now be edited manually in the Order Maintenance program’s main Order Browse window.  Look for Order Status under Clients and Orders in the Task Bar.
  • Order status may be updated automatically when printing reports. From the ProENTRY IV Catalog Configurator
program’s main menu, select Maintain and then Report Definitions.
  • Report archiving implemented, thus permitting specified reports (see Report Definitions) to be archived in an encrypted file for later retrieval and printing.  This maintains dates, prices, and all other data exactly as it appeared in the original report regardless of changes to the database.  To retrieve an archived report, from the ProENTRY IV Maintenance program’s main menu, select File, then Archived Reports. From the next window, select the desired type of report (invoice, packing list, etc.). From the next window select one or more archived reports from the list of available reports.
  • Numerous bug fixes and enhancements as well as minor cosmetic changes have been made throughout ProENTRY IV.
  • Bug fixed: “making my parameters, when clicking on Product Planner for type, it doesn't refresh the Product Planner Link list and make it available right away.  I clicked on Okay, then it refreshed the screen and allow me to click on the 3 dots to select my variable.  As well, if you click on insert when you are on a section such as catalog parameters, you will still need to add it when you are inserting the parameter.”
  • Bug fixed: “Creating Price Columns in the Catalog does not work.  Tried to make some in the master catalog and it just locked up the program.  Checked in the table and found an entry with a bunch of nulls in it.  Looks like it created an entry but couldn't open the window.”
  • Bug fixed: “When Entering parameters in and selecting Dimensions, I enter my min, max and default and hit enter, it brings up the formula editor.  Click Accept, and you can continue.”
  • Renamed the Browse choice in the menu in the Order Maintenance module to Maintain on order to be consistent with other ProENTRY implementations.
  • Report Definition maintenance moved from the Company Update window’s More tab to a separate window. From the main menu in either the Catalog Configurator
or Order Maintenance program, select Maintain, Report Definitions to access the new window. Note that the Report Definitions selection is not available in the Order Maintenance program when operating in Demo or Dealer mode.
  • ProENTRY now adds sample Report Types and Report Definitions.
